GSA Travel Award
This award was established by the GSA to assist with travel costs for full-time graduate students who are presenting at an internationally recognized conference within Canada or elsewhere. The conference must be attended in the semester following application and the student must have been admitted to their graduate program of study at the U of L prior to the conference. Students may only receive this award once per degree level. Must submit completed application by November 1, March 1 or July 1, in the semester prior to attending the conference. Applications can be submitted to Scholarship and Student Finance.

Student Event Financial Assistance
The GSA has funding available to support its members in planning academic or social events. To be considered for financial assistance, an event must contribute to the advancement of the GSA’s mandate, as found at

Thesis Binding Award (*new*)
The GSA will award students with financial need with $100 to cover partial costs of binding and printing their thesis, capstone, or exit projects.
Award guidelines & eligibility:
- Minimum five (5) awards of $100.00 each per Academic Semester will be granted by the GSA to successfully chosen registered graduate student applicants who are projected to defend in that semester. Financial need will be assessed. GSA reserves the right to increase number of awards as dictated by application pool.
- Awards are due by 5:00pm to the GSA Office (D413) on August 30, December 23, and April 30 in the semester prior to the defense date.
- Successful applicants must provide receipts within 60 calendar days following their defense date in order to receive retroactive reimbursement.
- Each student may receive only one Thesis Binding Award per degree while studying at the University of Lethbridge.
“Thesis” may also include capstone or exit projects, if required to be bound and submitted for grading.
